About Us
Who We Are
On December 5, 2021, the Board of Trustees created the Union Catholic Foundation, a Title XV corporation under the laws of the State of New Jersey, and a perpetual public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. While the assets of the Foundation are legally separate from Union Catholic High School, under the independent control of the Board of Trustees, the mission of the Foundation is to solicit donations, administer the investments and provide for the long-term security of Union Catholic High School.
The ultimate value of the Foundation is the difference it will make in the affordability, accessibility, and excellence of a Union Catholic education which instills the core values of community, compassion, honesty, responsibility, and respect in its students daily. The revenue the Foundation produces is through a prudent investment strategy consistent with Catholic teaching. The Board of Trustees directs 5% of the Foundation’s assets each year to the benefit of Union Catholic High School.
The assets of the Foundation are managed according to the investment policy, a governing document that outlines the objectives, spending policy, asset allocation, risk management, and long-term goals of the Foundation. The Investment Committee, a subcommittee of the Foundation Board of Trustees, creates and amends the investment policy and oversees the management and investment of the Foundation assets.
